Just how DO you teach someone what a color is? I'm telling you, if this does turn out to be a thing, years from now I'm sure I'll be blaming all of it on the fact that I'm a working mother. Really.

Jake: "What color is this?"

Amaya: "Turtle!"

Jake: "What color is it?"

Amaya: "TURTLE!"

Jake: "No, what color is this turtle?"

Amaya: "Ummmmm, BLUE!"

Jake: "No... It's Guhhhhhh...."

Amaya: "Guh?"

Jake: "No, Grrrrr..."

Amaya: "Grrrr?"

Jake: "Greeeee...."

Amaya: "Greeee?"

Jake: "Green!"

Amaya: *silence*

we use M&Ms to teach colors- say the color, you can eat it! grouping by colors helps too.

genius on the M&M idea. I'm going to try it.

I'm pretty sure she would be furious, because there's no way she'd be able to say the colors. Even with such a reward.

She doesn't even seem to recognize that there are different shades or colors. And that colors are not things, like crayons or turtles.

I'd say she was color blind, if it wasn't so unlikely.

She's also alphabet and number blind.

I was POSITIVE enzo was color blind. I even asked his doctor if he could check and he told me not to worry about it yet.

But then he became obsessed with pink. He wanted everything pink. Pink play-do, pink paper, I even had to buy him pink PJs. Then he started learning other colors because he would would say "i don't want that red _____ I want the pink one."

I don't even like pink and his obsession with the color makes me like it even less. If you want to get me anything for my girl baby make sure it's not pink. seriously, i'm going through all the pink hand me downs and giving it to kaity. she likes pink. maybe enzo gets it from her

I do try to incorporate colors and numbers when I'm watching her, but yeah, I get similar results. But I've been trying to give her color options when I ask her which one of something she wants. Like I say, "Do you want to wear the black slippers or brown ones?" Of course, she says "the brown ones" pointing to the black ones, but sooner of later she'll get it, I'm sure!
